Believing in Miracles.
My father would go out on strike for weeks at a time with absolutely no money coming in for our family of five. Then comes a check in the mail from her brother who never said a word or asked. He just knew and wanted to help.
Getting back to miracles. They are all around us. Everyday. If only we look for them, but it doesn't work unless... you believe in them. That's the hard part. Keeping the faith in the good in the world when everything around us is crazy. Anyone living through the last 2 years can certainly attest to that fact. No matter which side of the covid belief theory you're on, life has been turned upside down.
I think one of the hardest things to remember is what a miracle is and what it is not.
I lost both my parents before I was 30. In one year I lost my father, uncle, husband's grandfather and his uncle. It was a very sad summer. I felt like I lived at funeral homes. Through all this I wondered if I could still believe in a higher power or miracles as I watched those I love suffer and eventually pass away. I prayed, bargained, and tried to make deals; Please save him and I promise I'll....
Haven't we all done that at one time or another? Those of us who lived a bit of life and even for those who are early in their journey may have lived through these tough times.
One thing about miracles? It's what's in your life, when you look for and believe. We also have to know that other people's lives are their journeys, not ours. When the dog I adopted a few years ago got sick I was devastated. I begged her not to leave me. I told her we were meant to be together for a long time and I needed her by my side. She was always with me. I took her to work with me everyday. The only place she didn't go was the grocery store and that was only because those meanies wouldn't let dogs in. Losing her was losing a big part of my every day life. She was always there, right next to me. Again I prayed and tried to send healing energy to my little girl. She just got sicker and soon I knew I had to let her go.
The thing about this was her life was her journey and I had to accept it. Just like all the others I lost throughout my life.
So when you're looking for a miracle make it about your life, not the lives of others.
This week try to bring yourself a miracle, a blessing for yourself. Send your wishes out into the world and give it 48 hours. Then see what happens. Believe in the Universe to bring you a gift.

Mature Well-educated Women
“One of the benefits of being a mature well-educated woman is that you're not afraid of expletives. And you have no fear to put a fool in his place."

Acceptance, Courage, Wisdom
There's that Serenity Prayer that coaches us to accept things we cannot change. Probably a good thing to remember right now. Find comfort in knowing what you can control and what you can't.

We can't change the minds of those who don't abide by these common sense guidelines and we shouldn't try. All they have to do is turn on the TV and they can see the facts. For some reason they don't want to face this new world.
So, let's just ride this out. Let's keep ourselves and our families safe and know sooner or later we'll be on the other side of this virus. Pandemics don't last forever, science is moving forward and the world will go on.
Stay positive and focus on what you can do this day, this hour, this minute.
Stuck in the house either by lock down or choice make it a good day. Rearrange the furniture, try a new recipe, bake some cookies, check for take out or virtual activities of games & art classes, build a fort in the living room and hunker down with a good book. This time is yours. Enjoy it. The real world will return and we'll be back to our jobs, routines and friends. Have faith.

Staying Positive in Covidland
When we look around it's important that we still see the beauty in the world. The kindness in those around us. For there are more out there with kind hearts, it's just the crazy ones who make the news. We can't blame the media, they're just doing their jobs. People do things, they report them. Done.
What if we just went forward from here and sought out the kindness in the world. Just see those around us who do the little things. Did someone help that old woman take something off a high shelf? Did you get a nod & hello from a neighbor? Maybe you just watched the sunrise and it was beautiful.
Don't pass up those little positive signs in the day. Watch for them. Add them up and know there is still good out there in crazyland. Focus on the good and turn away from those who dwell on the negatives. Maybe share those little positive things you saw today and brighten someone's day.
There is a Positive Life Ahead.
