Does Manifesting Work?

I've long been a fan of the movie/book The Secret. I think as souls or spirits we are capable of more than we can ever imagine.

Can we create the world we want merely by thinking it into existence? Maybe. I know a lot of those manifesting books will tell you yes, definitely, but can we really get it done?

I wanted to move to a new state an open a business.

A woman where I was working at the time told us how her hubby got a new and really great job at a coffee company. She says it was funny because she had been doing her kitchen over in a coffee theme. A kitchen rug with coffee cups, a picture on the wall that said, "But first, Coffee" and other little things that supported the theme.  She gets it done and this great job at a coffee company falls into their lives.

When we decided on what kind of a business we wanted to open I took the back bedroom of our home and set it up to match the theme of that business.  A year later we're in it.

When we were about to open our doors the place we were living was an hour away. What a commute, right? So every day as we crossed this long bridge to where out business was located I would look out at the water and repeat; I'm so grateful we have our own home so close to work. I love our home so close to work. Thank you for this wonderful home near our work." Over and over as we crossed the bridge. Then my daughter pops up with, "Hey, do you want to rent my house?" She was moving in with her long time boyfriend. So this new home kind of just showed up in our lives. Was that manifesting?

So, now think really hard about what you really want and be grateful. Thank the universe as if it's already in your life. Post below and let me know if  when works.

Grateful Days & Positive Affirmations

Staying positive goes hand and hand with being grateful.

I had a relative who always complained about everything. She viewed her life through what others had that she didn't.
I never understood her, but I think a little of her negativity seeped into my life. I think it hurt that she couldn't be happy when other's succeeded. Jealousy seemed to be her norm. After a while I realized I couldn't change her or fix her view on life. We drifted apart.

Now I start my days with a "thank you" to the universe. Or to God, who I believe are one and the same. If you think back to that song from West Side Story; Somethings coming, something good, I don't know what it is, but it is gonna be great."

Today's affirmation; Thank you for all the wonderful things that will happen today. Thank you for the blue skies, the people I love and for all the good in the world.

From small affirmations great things will grow for you.  Go forth & share the love.

Believing in Miracles.

My mother always said money comes when you need it.  It was something she always believed.  Please note; we were not rich or even well off by any standards. However, I saw throughout the years that she was right.

My father would go out on strike for weeks at a time with absolutely no money coming in for our family of five. Then comes a check in the mail from her brother who never said a word or asked. He just knew and wanted to help.

Getting back to miracles. They are all around us. Everyday. If only we look for them, but it doesn't work unless... you believe in them.  That's the hard part. Keeping the faith in the good in the world when everything around us is crazy. Anyone living through the last 2 years can certainly attest to that fact. No matter which side of the covid belief theory you're on, life has been turned upside down.

I think one of the hardest things to remember is what a miracle is and what it is not.

I lost both my parents before I was 30. In one year I lost my father, uncle, husband's grandfather and his uncle. It was a very sad summer. I felt like I lived at funeral homes. Through all this I wondered if I could still believe in a higher power or miracles as I watched those I love suffer and eventually pass away. I prayed, bargained, and tried to make deals; Please save him and I  promise I'll....

Haven't we all done that at one time or another? Those of us who lived a bit of life and even for those who are early in their journey may have lived through these tough times.

One thing about miracles? It's what's in your life, when you look for and believe. We also have to know that other people's lives are their journeys, not ours. When the dog I adopted a few years ago got sick I was devastated. I begged her not to leave me. I told her we were meant to be together for a long time and I needed her by my side. She was always with me. I took her to work with me everyday. The only place she didn't go was the grocery store and that was only because those meanies wouldn't let dogs in. Losing her was losing a big part of my every day life. She was always there, right next to me. Again I prayed and tried to send healing energy to my little girl. She just got sicker and soon I knew I had to let her go.

The thing about this was her life was her journey and I had to accept it. Just like all the others I lost throughout my life.

So when you're looking for a miracle make it about your life, not the lives of others.

This week try to bring yourself a miracle, a blessing for yourself. Send your wishes out into the world and give it 48 hours. Then see what happens. Believe in the Universe to bring you a gift.
